F1 IS OVER !!!

And I have a lot of fun during the past 3 days. So what if there's no one I know at the location I was posted to? I am really glad to know many people and have fun while working.

Day 1 (26/9/08)

It was the worst day for work. Not to mention the fact that it was raining so heavily in the morning, the MRT I was on got stuck twice and I am almost late for work. Luckily for me, there were people being later than I am. =))

So we had briefing and I had absolutely no idea what to expect. There were like so many types of passes to remember. And then Gate 1 was a restricted zone and only certain types of passes can come in.

But I managed to survive the day with help from my co-workers.

Day 2 (27/9/08)

It was not raining but it was BURNING! Gosh! It was so hot that day. So everyone became lazy due to the heat. Yup. I was just hoping that the day would just pass fast.

Day 3 (28/9/08)

Yesterday was the fun-est of all. The whole of Gate 1 ticketing staff took a group photo and I hope I receive the pictures soon. So we talked about random stuff and sang songs. That was until the crowd started to come in and we were busy the whole time. After work, my friend and I went to watch the F1 race. Standing. It was so thrilling and the drivers just whisked past you. I managed to take a few video clips but they werent clear as they were too fast!

A quite memorable day indeed. =))

I want to thank these people for making my work fun and easy:

Ticketing Inspectors (Not in order):

Seok Han

Tania

Ivy

Hidayat

Chua

and the rest of Gate 1 ticketing inspectors (I dont know their names >.<)

Security (not in order):

Ming De

Vincent (and it's the wrong spelling by the way)

and the funny uncle who always makes us laugh

(^-^)

So next year, I want to be part of it again !

1 hell of a week just passed!

So working too far away from home isnt the thing for me and it's especially sian when you have to report to Tiong Bahru at like 8 plus am and stay there until 5 pm.

Argh!

And so I managed to pass that 1 week and I will NEVER EVER do anything related to the exam paper checking.

I lost my pass and now waiting for the person in charge to contact me.

More sian-sation.

Just went for Iguides sub com selection camp and I tell you, IT'S SO GOD DAMN TIRING!! Haiz, that's of course when we have to run around the school during the time when NORMAL people are sleeping. I am so dead in the morning and by the time the camp ended. But it was overall a good experience for me.

F1 training after resting for an hour or so. I reported at 1pm which they told me and ended up waiting until 3.30 pm to start the briefing. -.-" And I still dont know how to get to the gate which I am supposed to report to.

Hope that I will figure it out when the day comes.

Good luck to me!!

An interesting conversation with my Mum and family over steamboat ...

Me:I am going to F1 !! At least I dont need to be an usher located in MRT station.

Dad: So how are you going to go home?

Me: By bus lor -.-"

Dad: Orh.. They will reopen the roads after the race is over lah.

Me: Ya... o.O

Mum: F1 is go round and round the road one ah?

Family: >.<

Second conversation with my Mum in the car while my Dad, Angeline and I were talking about Olympics. Btw, it was raining heavily.

Dad: There are like 1 million PRC volunteered to participate in the Olympics.

Angeline: Wah! So many ah?

Suddenly,

Mum: Eh, the family never take in the clothing leh!!!! You see, you see!!! *frantically pointing*

Angeline: What if 1 million S'poreans go volunteer leh?

Me: Then I'll start watching NDP parades

Mum: Then bo lang deng chu kua diang si ki loh. (Then nobody at home watch TV alr)
All the lao ah ma and ah chek and babies and people like your father will have to go volunteer also!!!
Selkali the government also go ah!!!

Trust my Mum to say that..

I am back to to blog again. ^-^

I will trackback to yesterday first.

I attended the mentoring workshop yesterday and the speaker was actually blind. I am actually quite impressed by him. Not only did he managed to cramp all the points a 4 hours long talk into his brain, he did not let his disability obstruct him from giving an entertaining speech. He managed to try to make eye contact with the audience although he could not even see us. Ya, there was once when he turned to the side of the lecture theatre and no one was there and he was talking to that particular spot. But no one made fun of him and I am glad.

So yup, it was quite enriching. =))

After the talk, I went to Downtown East to meet up with my family. It started raining and to think I thought of being brave and going to the "Haunted House". Just when I reached the entrance, an announcement was made saying that the park was closed due to bad weather. Ok, very sad.

We went to Ehub and eat chicken rice.

That's all!

~*~

I woke up at 6 am this morning and prepared for work at SEAB.

Yes, during a holiday.

Then we finished work like damn early lah. 0830 to 1200. Not bad not bad =)) Oh, and I also went emo when I realised I have to report to the International Plaza for the F1 job. Ah!!

So Jasmine, Candice and I headed down to Suntec with the intention of having lunch and looking for jobs. The looking for jobs part failed terribly. Then, I called the F1 organiser to ask if there's any vacancy left and he told me to head down to the International Plaza.

The 3 of us went down to Kelly Services and got us the ticket inspector job. Can lah, better than ushering guests. =))

So that's my day!!

=))
