Monday, April 27, 2009 @ 11:28 AM Oh shucks! I am so lazy to blog right now. Maybe not lazy lah, becoz since I touched down 2 weeks ago. I had to chiong a report and complete it within a week. And I had absolutely no idea how to do the report as I had learnt absolutely nothing from my attachment. Then school had to reopen and my new location is at TAS (Tourism Academy @ Sentosa). So it is rather sian as I have to travel all the way from Bedok to Habourfront, then get onto the Sentosa Express and walk to the school after I alighted. And the same process when I am getting home too. You see lah, sian anot? If it's like 1 week 2 to 3 days or a short period of time like 1 month, I may not be so sick of it. But it's for a sem. Oh gosh! And contrary to what you guys think, the environment is not say relax or what. With the amount and difficulty level of projects and assigments, it is very stressful. The seminar rooms for lectures are quite spacious and comfortable. Well, there are only like 2 diplomas in the entire school. So ya, and that's about it. I am working on the China post though. May take some time as Blogger is now slow in uploading photos. Ok, I am bored from waiting for my bf. -.-"" And to add on, I am now at TP and have to go back to TAS later. Yayness! |

Tuesday, April 7, 2009 @ 8:30 PM I know I have been mia-ing for long. Well, it's not becoz I am having so much fun till I have no time to blog. But there's really nothing to blog! Now that I am blogging, it means that I have a few things to rant. =)) Attachment so far was BORING! Everyday, I will reach school 10 mins late and nobody really bothers. So I will just sit together with friends and crap until my supervisor decides to give me things to do. And everyday, I will fall asleep after lunch. I will also sit in one of the classes and listen to the teacher teaching the class. Then I realised that the whole syllabus is very screwed up lah. Their teachers were practically teaching them the wrong sentence structure, wrong pronunciation etc. I was quite pek chek at that becoz when I am grading their assignments, some mistakes could be avoided. Sometimes it's to the extent that I felt like vomiting blood. So people, it is not that the Chinese are not good in English. It is them learning the wrong English when they were still studying. Now I understand and dont blame them at all. I went over to Beijing over the weekend and it was kind of a wasted trip for me. Shallnt continue with the details. But at least I got to visit 天安门 and went to 全聚德 to have their all time famous 北京烤鸭. And oh oh, I got to experience how locals live. Ok maybe not their habit of spitting everywhere but I got to travel in their "MRT" and it wasnt a fun experience. As China is very over populated, the train was very crowded and squeezy till you literally have no chance of falling over. Oh my gosh! Now I shallnt complain when taking MRT in Singapore already. Overall, Beijing is more civilised than Shijiazhuang in my opinion and that the drivers there do not honk incessantly. Ok, that's all for now. I am super lazy already. =pp Ciao! |

Wednesday, April 1, 2009 @ 9:41 PM School was as usual, boring. I can even sleep in the office when I am supposed to be doing something constructive lah. Not that I slack there or what leh, is just that I have absolutely nothing to do. Everyday I just need to sit in one class and observe how the class was conducted and then I either marked papers or sit and stone, with the latter being the most frequent. In the end, I always get like lunch break 2 hours earlier and off work 1 hour earlier. There's nothing to do seriously!! Something funny happened yesterday. So Vanessa and I decided to have some Singapore food for dinner so we went to the market place near my home to get some food. But it was quite a frustrating yet amusing experience. As we did not really have the experience of buying food from the market (I always get what I want from supermarkets), we did not know how to purchase them. In the end, we got a bunch of 小白菜, soy sauce and oh yes, white pepper. As pepper is 胡椒粉, we said that to the auntie selling spices. I asked if she sell the pepper and she gave me the blank stare. We really didnt know how to describe pepper to her and it was frustrating. In the end, she tried to sell me red kidney beans. Beans and peppers are like so different lah. We finally gave up and went to a convenience store to get our pepper. They have it there. So if there is such thing as 胡椒粉, why did the auntie not understand me? |
